August 9, 1938, the village of Chaikino, Chernihiv region. His father Danylo Prokopovych Kuchma, died on the front in 1944. His mother Paraska Trokhymivna Kuchma, kolkhoz worker. |

Married. His wife Lyudmila Mykolaivna is an honorary president of the National Foundation of Social Protection of Mothers and Children ‘Ukraine for Children’. His daughter Olena is an economist. He has grandson Roman and granddaughter Kateryna. |

Higher. In 1960, he was graduated from Dnipropetrovsk State University, physics technical faculty, mechanical engineering in rocket industry. Professor, PhD in Engineering, author of inventions and scientific works, honorary professor at foreign higher education establishments, current member of several Academies of Science. |
