President meets Ambassadors of G8 states, EUPresident Viktor Yanukovych met G8 and EU Ambassadors to Ukraine. At the meeting he informed them on the process of forming parliamentary coalition and new Government, as well as shared his vision of possible scenarios of political situation development. From their part the diplomats set forth their opinions on recent developments in Ukraine. They expressed appreciation of the fact that President Yanukovych met with them before signing the amended Law on Regulations of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The sides also pointed out that partners of Ukraine and the Ukrainian society both need stability. The President said it is the main prerequisite for successful introduction of changes and reforms. Therefore, he stressed, it is important to quickly form effective and professional government. President also said that one of the first steps in domestic policy will be establishing the Center for Strategic Reforms and told the diplomats about such center’s tasks, authority and structure. All aspects of democratization and reforms will receive the greatest possible support of the G8 states and the European Union, the Ambassadors said. The meeting was held in overall spirit of understanding and goodwill. |
