President initiates coordination of European countries' efforts in preventing floods

President Viktor Yanukovych held a phone conversation with President of Hungary Laszlo Solyom. During the conversation sides have discussed President Yanukovych’s initiative to unite efforts of Central and Eastern European countries in prevention and fighting consequences of possible floods.

The two Presidents have agreed on mutual assistance, particularly on coordination of efforts of Ukrainian and Hungarian military during helping people, who live in regions potentially endangered by floods. They have also agreed on a joint action plan.

President Yanukovych and President Solyom have also discussed holding a bilateral meeting in the nearest future, at which they would develop and adopt a specific program of mutual aid.

The President of Ukraine also has the intention to discuss the matter with the Presidents of Poland and Slovakia.
