President holds meeting with Chairmen of law enforcement authorities dedicated to explosion in Zaporizhia

President Viktor Yanukovych met in Crimea with Security Service Chairman Valeriy Khoroshkovsky, Attorney General Oleksandr Medvedko, and Interior Minister Anatoliy Mohylev dedicated to investigation of the explosion in Zaporizhia. Chief of Presidential Staff Serhiy Lyovochkin was also invited to the meeting.

President Yanukovych has called upon law enforcement authorities to respond rapidly to the challenge thrown down by criminals to the Ukrainian society. "We must immediately solve this crime. The society expects us to answer what the motive of the crime was," he said.

The Head of State requested that law enforcement authorities used all the mechanisms available to them to solve the crime. "It is very important," he said.

The Interior Minister said that the tragic incident that took place in Zaporizhia is of particular concern for the Interior Ministry. He said that the best professionals were sent to the crime scene in order to speed up its investigation and that President’s instruction to solve the crime as soon as possible would be performed. "We have a specific operational information ... All the forces of the Interior Ministry are aimed at solving the crime," said Anatoliy Mohylev.

The Security Service Chairman called the event in Zaporizhia extraordinary. According to him, all the scenarios and events preceding the crime are being worked on. "I am certain that the crime will be solved in the time set by the President," said Valeriy Khoroshkovsky.

From his part the Attorney General expressed his confidence that this crime will be solved within a week. He said that criminal charges of premeditated murder, attempted murder, and intentional damage property were brought against those who did it.
