President: Education system demands profound reforms
President Viktor Yanukovych emphasizes importance of reforming national education system, he told journalists today after visiting Kyiv School #16 on the occasion of Day of Knowledge.
"The state of our education I would call hard. I think a lot of time was wasted in our country since independence and, certainly, the quality of education requires significant improvement," he said.
In this context, Viktor Yanukovych noted that today it is important to find opportunities for rapid re-equipment of schools, providing them with modern technologies, computers, etc..
According to the President, it is also necessary to address methodological issues of education, as well as build modern sports halls, so that our children had "new opportunities" in learning, could develop and grow physically healthy.
