President does everything to liberate pilot Nadiya Savchenko from Russian captivity

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko emphasizes that he will make every effort to liberate all hostages in the Donbas, including Ukrainian pilot Nadiya Savchenko held captive in the Russian prison.

“We will not stop until we can inform Nadiya’s mother that everything is fine with her heroic daughter,” the President said at the meeting with Head the Internal Affairs Department of Horlivka Andriy Kryshchenko.

The Head of State informed that a new lawyer would be appointed under his instruction for the protection of Nadiya.

Petro Poroshenko emphasized: “Nadiya Savchenko is a symbol of struggle for Ukraine. While being in captivity she demonstrated true, strong, martial Ukrainian spirit of a serviceman who doesn’t betray Motherland”.

The President admitted that “the situation is extremely complicated: she was kidnapped and the reaction of the Ukrainian government will be very tough”. “Nobody has the right to kidnap Ukrainian citizens and servicemen. It is a violation of all international agreements, all rules of the international law. It is absolutely unacceptable,” he said.

Petro Poroshenko expressed confidence that Nadiya Savchenko “will return to Ukraine in a good health and will further defend Ukraine”.
