President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a phone conversation with President of the United States Barack Obama

The U.S. President discussed President Poroshenko’s initiative on the international humanitarian mission for Luhansk under the auspices of the International Committee of the Red Cross.

Petro Poroshenko expressed gratitude to the United States for the initiative of both parties in the U.S. House of Representatives to propose Ukraine Security Assistance Act which, according to the President of Ukraine, was an evidence of efficient support of the United States to Ukraine. President Poroshenko expressed hope that the given Act would be supported by congressmen and senators as well as signed by the U.S. President already in the nearest time.

Petro Poroshenko and Barack Obama discussed security situation in the area of the counter-terrorist operation in Donbas.

Petro Poroshenko and Barack Obama noted the upcoming NATO summit that they will both attend on September 4-5, in Newport, Wales, UK.
