President Petro Poroshenko noted solidarity of all Ukrainians with the actions of the government aimed to ensure stable functioning of the Ukrainian gas transport system given the threats of Gazprom to terminate the implementation of the gas supply contract.

President Petro Poroshenko held a meeting in Ukrtransgaz regarding the attempt of Russia and Gazprom to disrupt the implementation of the contract for the gas supply to Ukraine.

During the meeting on the threats to energy security, President Petro Poroshenko emphasized that the Government took comprehensive measures to ensure the reliable operation of the energy sector.

“We praise the statements made in the European Commission today by our partners, inter alia, by the German Government pointing out their understanding of who is responsible for the attempts to create this crisis situation. We are confident that the contract will not be broken. We are confident that nothing endangers transit. Ukraine once again confirmed it is a reliable gas supplier to Europe,” the President emphasized.

“Contracts do not envisage the right of their unilateral termination. Such statements of Gazprom can be explained only by the reluctance to fulfill their contractual obligations,” President Petro Poroshenko noted in a meeting in the ad hoc center.

“We will go through this crisis period calmly and confidently. Nothing endangers either economy or social sphere,” the President said during the meeting in the ad hoc center.

The National Council of Reforms chaired by the President considered the draft law “On Currency” that will be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

President Petro Poroshenko signed the law on privatization of state and communal property during the session of the National Council of Reforms.

“Reshat is a man who did not imagine life without the Ukrainian Crimea and did not imagine life without freedom. A man who could not be broken and to overcome his resistance, these criminals, these terrorists decided to kill him," the President said, reminding that "exactly four years ago the relatives saw Reshat for the last time when he went to the recruitment office to join the ranks of volunteers and defend the Ukrainian land".
