Signing the law on peculiarities of the state policy on ensuring the state sovereignty of Ukraine in the temporarily occupied territories in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, President Petro Poroshenko emphasized: “Ukraine remains committed to the peaceful settlement of the problem of the liberation of the occupied territories”.

“It is legally stipulated in the law that Russia occupied our territories. This Law substantially strengthens the legal basis for the use of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other forces for the defense of our state. And it is very important that this Law provides a legal mechanism for the return of these territories. Inter alia, in a political and diplomatic way,” Petro Poroshenko emphasized.

President Petro Poroshenko held a phone conversation with Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel on the fourth anniversary of the events on Maidan. The parties discussed the course of implementation of the Minsk agreements and stressed the need for consolidation of the ceasefire regime. Special attention was paid to the release of hostages.

President Petro Poroshenko and his wife Maryna Poroshenko took part in the prayer for the fallen participants of the Revolution of Dignity. The prayer in St. Michael’s Cathedral was conducted by His Holiness, Patriarch of Kyiv and All Rus’-Ukraine Filaret.

"On these days, we remember our Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred. Months were dedicated to the organization of the Memorial and the Museum. I am grateful to our dear friends from Germany, world-famous architects who have vast experience in organizing similar contests. Competition for the creation of the Museum and Memorial, which looks exactly at the future. For this is how the future of Ukraine is seen, and this is exactly how every Hero, whom we remember today, saw it," the President emphasized.

President Petro Poroshenko signed the law on the construction of the Memorial Museum Complex of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes.

"Ukraine's interests should be adequately protected in the Permanent Court of Arbitration," the Head of State emphasized and signed the order on the representation of Ukraine in the legal proceedings in the Permanent Court of Arbitration regarding the violation of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. According to this document, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Olena Zerkal will defend the interests of our country.

On February 19, President’s wife Maryna Poroshenko took part in the opening of the 2-day International Forum “Unlimited: Art Without Boundaries” held in the Theatre on Podol at the initiative of the British Council in cooperation with the Poroshenko Charity Foundation. The events involves 200 delegates from Ukraine, Great Britain, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan - artists, managers, producers, heads of artistic institutions, choreographers, directors and government officials.

"Evil must be punished. That is why, for the first time in Ukrainian history, I decided to take part in the trial. It is unprecedented when the President personally does it, but this is the case of each of us," Petro Poroshenko said at the opening of the exhibition devoted to the participants of the Revolution of Dignity - creative people "Lead Me Through the Maidan".

President Petro Poroshenko has discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation with the Prime Minister of Poland.
