Modern Ukraine, politicians must remember not only lessons of our history, but also make conclusions to prevent the repeat of mistakes, as stated by the President.

President Petro Poroshenko urged political forces to remember about national interests in the internal political struggle and not to destabilize the situation inside the country.

“Our team in the UN ICJ fights for the fair punishment of those guilty in thousands of casualties as a result of terrorist attacks in the Ukrainian Donbas; those who supplied tanks, modern artillery, MLRS, armored vehicles, ammunition, missiles used to shell Avdiivka, Kramatorsk, Mariupol, civilian bus in Volnovakha and shoot down the MH-17 flight,” the Head of State noted at the meeting with Ukraine’s representative in the UN International Court of Justice in The Hague, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Justice, Prosecutor General and Head of the Security Service.

“I want to say that Ukraine has two wings like a plane. First is democracy and second is order. And you can fly only with two wings,” the President noted.

President Petro Poroshenko substantiated his legislative initiative to prevent dual citizenship in Ukraine. The President emphasized that the “situation has been brought to the absurd when the governor, MP or government official boasted to the public by the presence of two or three passports being confident of their impunity”.

President Petro Poroshenko underscores the independence of anti-corruption bodies and the importance of establishing new traditions of the Ukrainian law enforcement system.

President Petro Poroshenko emphasizes that except the establishment of independent anti-corruption infrastructure, creation of independent judicial branch of power is among his priorities. At the same time, the President urged the public to pay attention to the process of formation of the Supreme Court.

Enterprises that kept paying wages in Ukrainian currency and paying taxes to the Ukrainian budget were the “islands” of Ukrainian presence in the occupied territories and they were to become a stronghold of reintegration of those lands after their de-occupation. It was stated by President Petro Poroshenko in the interview with Ukrainian TV channels.

“We will always respect participants of peaceful rallies, even though we may not share their requirements. But we will detain and bring to justice all people who come with weapons, machine guns, Molotov cocktails, explosives or grenades and blow up railroad tracks at the call of organizers-adventurers, even though they call themselves patriots. Is it permissible to allow armed “guest performers” to the rear of Ukrainian troops?” the President emphasized.

At the NSDC session, President Petro Poroshenko offered to initiate, consider and adopt the law on restoration of territorial integrity of Ukraine, which meets the national interests of our state.
