President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko met with President of the World Bank Group Jim Yong Kim. The President of the World Bank Group expressed willingness to continue supporting Ukraine in the implementation of structural reforms in the economy.
President Petro Poroshenko had a meeting with Prime Minister of Netherlands Mark Rutte in Davos. The Head of State thanked the Prime Minister for the political solidarity and practical assistance to Ukraine in countering the Russian aggression.
An efficient system to protect and stimulate the investors will be created in Ukraine. It was stated by President Petro Poroshenko during his speech within the Ukrainian Breakfast at the 48th annual session of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
“We continue our cooperation with IMF. I’d like to thank David Lipton (First Deputy Managing Director of the IMF - ed.) and Christine Lagarde (Managing Director of the IMF - ed.) for a wonderful meeting and discussion of what and when must be done. Including the issues of the Anticorruption Court. This is my initiative in the Parliament. We must accelerate the meeting of the legislative experts to facilitate the preparation of the given law to the second reading,” Petro Poroshenko said.
Over the past year, the number of foreign investors interested in Ukraine has increased sharply, as stated by President Petro Poroshenko. “I am proud that this year, for the first time, I received a lot of requests from the foreign investors to hold a meeting. A great number of top players of the investment market. This has never happened before,” the Head of State noted during his speech within the Ukrainian Breakfast at the 48th annual session of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
“It is very important to deliver the truth about the events in Ukraine to protect the world from the fake news that are actively distributed around the world,” Petro Poroshenko said, emphasizing that such news are a part of Russia’s hybrid war against not only Ukraine, but also the whole free world.
“It is very important for us to continue cooperation with IMF now, in 2018, as it is not only trust of the international financial organizations related to the macro-financial assistance from the EU, cooperation with the World Bank, but also trust of the investors,” the President emphasized following the negotiations with the IMF Managing Director.
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held a meeting with Vice President of the European Commission for Energy Union Maroš Šefčovič. The parties discussed ways to further integrate the Ukrainian energy market into the EU market, as well as possible mechanisms for Ukraine to join the EU Energy Union.
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held a meeting with Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu. The parties discussed the issues of bilateral agenda and the ways to develop traditionally friendly relations between Ukraine and Israel.
