President Petro Poroshenko took part in a special plenary session of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine devoted to the oath taking by two newly appointed judges of the Constitutional Court Serhiy Golovatyi and Vasyl Lemak.

The NSDC chaired by the President considered the issue of rolling over sanctions against Russian banks.

The NSDC considered the issue of control over the entry into Ukraine of citizens of the country-aggressor, particularly the amendments to the laws on the legal status of foreigners and stateless persons and on the border control.

“I warn you that I won’t let anyone postpone this draft law using meaningless syntactic or spelling corrections. It is inadmissible to delay the second reading. The Law must be adopted in spring,” the Head of State noted.

President Petro Poroshenko addressed CEO of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine Andriy Kobolyev, Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko, Minister of Justice Pavlo Petrenko and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pavlo Klimkin with a request to develop a plan of common actions as soon as possible in case Gazprom doesn’t fulfill the decision of the Stockholm arbitration tribunal.

The President of Ukraine met with the team of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine that reported to the Head of State on the final decision of the Stockholm arbitration tribunal as regards the case of Naftogaz against Gazprom.

"Please do not listen to those who try to evoke the suspension of the visa-free regime. This is the same circle of "forecasters" who predicted that we will never achieve that. Moreover, they wrote letters, appealed to the European Union member states, the European Commission, the European Council with a request to refrain from granting us the visa-free regime," President Petro Poroshenko noted during a press conference "Challenges - 2018".

President Petro Poroshenko expects the Parliament to adopt the Law on the Anticorruption Court, appoint a Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine, a composition of the CEC, complete the composition of the Constitutional Court and make a number of other important decisions shortly.

"We are definitely ready to take ships from Crimea. But this is not about the reason whether there is no repair, complete set or anything else. We are ready to take ships from Crimea only with Crimea," President Petro Poroshenko noted.

"The aspiration for membership in the European Union and NATO could be fixed in the Preamble to the Constitution. The support of two-thirds of the constitutional composition of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is enough for that. The recent voting for the bills on national security and defense give me reasons for cautious optimism," the Head of State said.
