“Speaking of the results in Davos, to keep it shortly - everything was very good,” President Petro Poroshenko said in the briefing following the participation in the 48th annual session of the World Economic Forum in Davos and a series of bilateral meetings within the forum.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson discussed the coordination of actions of the two countries in the security issues. It was stated by Petro Poroshenko in the briefing following the meeting that took place within the 48th annual session of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Within the 48th annual session of the World Economic Forum in Davos, President Petro Poroshenko held a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.

"We will definitely be in the EU and we are a European country. Our policy is clearly coordinated with the EU," President Petro Poroshenko said during the interactive session “Central and Eastern Europe: a new agenda for the continent?” in Davos, where the 48th meeting of the World Economic Forum takes place.

President Petro Poroshenko emphasizes that the present authorities had reached the best results in cooperation with the International Monetary Fund in the whole history of Ukraine’s relations with this organization. “We had only one tranche from IMF before and then Ukraine stopped fulfilling promises. Now, we already have 4 tranches, 3 memorandums that have been fulfilled completely. We received 8.7 billion dollars in the most difficult time of our history. And we do this during the Russian occupation, illegal annexation of Crimea, which affected the standards of living in my country,” the Head of State noted.

The Head of State stressed that the main topic of today’s discussions on the future of the EU and Russia in 2018 were new strategies, approaches, agenda. “Forget about that. The whole EU, the whole free world must have one agenda, one strategy, one vote to be as united as possible,” the President said during the discussion in the interactive session “Central and Eastern Europe: a new agenda for the continent?” in Davos, where the 48th meeting of the World Economic Forum takes place.

“Today we had a discussion - whether the glass is half full or empty. I have a new version and I hope Mr. President (Suma Chakrabarti - ed.) will support me - it isn’t half anymore, we already have more. And this is an important message - please, do not waste time waiting for June-July-August or autumn. This is the right time and place to be here today in the Ukraine House Davos. We are waiting for you, for the investors,” the Head of State noted. He emphasized that much had been done to improve the investment climate. “Ukraine is different now. You can come and we’ll show you that,” the President emphasized.

During the visit to Davos to participate in the World Economic Forum, President Petro Poroshenko held a meeting with Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenković.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko met with President of the World Bank Group Jim Yong Kim. The President of the World Bank Group expressed willingness to continue supporting Ukraine in the implementation of structural reforms in the economy.
