President Petro Poroshenko underlines the need for completing demarcation of the Ukraine-Moldova border, including the area of Transnistria. This issue, as well as the development of cross-border transport infrastructure was specifically addressed during today’s negotiations between the Head of State and the Prime Minister of Moldova.

“Now we see persistent attempts to impose to Moldova and Ukraine such formats of reintegration that will allow making decisions fateful for the fate of our nations from outside. I would like to underline that these attempts are doomed to failure. Ukraine and Moldova must and will be restored within their sovereign and internationally recognized borders. I want to emphasize once again: Crimea is Ukraine, just as Donbas. The whole democratic global community shares and supports this position. And those who do not agree stand on the other side of civilizational dimension," Petro Poroshenko said.

President Petro Poroshenko had a meeting with President of Slovenia Borut Pahor who visited Ukraine in the framework of his international tour after the visits to Berlin and Moscow.

In the framework of the working trip to Ivano-Frankivsk region, President Petro Poroshenko held a meeting on the  issue of implementation of the road experiment in western regions of Ukraine. The President heard the reports of the regional heads on the implementation of the program of road construction in 2016 and plans for 2017. Following the meeting, the President gave a series of instructions.

“Elections under Russian muzzles and with their soldiers around polling stations are totally inadmissible and impossible,” Petro Poroshenko noted.

The Head of State noted that ensuring modern equipment for the State Emergency Service was a direct obligation of the authorities, not a gift. “There is always room for a feat in life and not only on the frontline. Over 36 thousand calls during the past year, more than 13 thousand of them with an “emergency” signal. Isn’t it an illustration of your daily risk? 35 people saved – isn’t it an indicator of your efficiency and usefulness of your work?” the President said.

The Head of State reminded that outpatient clinics haven’t been built in Prykarpattia since 1993 and hospitals – since 2003. “The construction of the central hospital in Halych started in 1978. Each and every President promised to complete the construction and only now, when the country is in extremely difficult conditions, when we defend the Ukrainian land from Russian aggression, the construction has been completed,” the President said.
