In the framework of the working visit of the Ukrainian President to Canada, President’s wife Maryna Poroshenko visited the inclusive educational institution – St. Demetrius Ukrainian Catholic School.

On the occasion of World Peace Day, which is celebrated all over the world on September 21, Maryna Poroshenko and the pupils wrote new pages in the nationwide Ukrainian project "The Book of Peace".

Speaking about the initiative, the President's wife appealed to the students to appreciate peace, live in unity and respect human dignity: "Today, the Ukrainian people are forced to defend their statehood and independence from their eastern neighbor. For three long years, millions of Ukrainians have been taking the hits of war to their families and their country, defending freedom and justice. And like nobody else, we know the true price of life under the peaceful sky. Therefore, this "Book of Peace" is a kind of ambassador that shows that Ukrainians are a peaceful nation and that we strive to live in peace," the First Lady said.
