Ukraine is willing to expand cooperation with the EU for the development of our state and accession to the EU in the future. It was stated by President Petro Poroshenko in the meeting with the representatives of national and foreign business in Kyiv.
“We will develop our cooperation with the EU. I believe that we will enter the Schengen Area. I believe that we will enter the EU Customs Union. I believe that we will enter the Energy Union. I believe that Ukraine will be a member of the European Common Aviation Area,” Petro Poroshenko said.
“These are the steps that will precede the acquisition of the EU and NATO membership. For this end, we must work jointly, persistently and effectively to meet the criteria,” he added.
The President called the support for his initiative on the abolition of roaming fee for Ukrainians in the EU countries an example of the enhancement of the Ukraine-EU cooperation. “The initiative I put forward a year ago on the roaming for Ukrainians in the EU was endorsed by the European Parliament two days ago and was included in the list of documents for the Eastern Partnership that will take place in Brussels this autumn,” the Head of State stressed.
