In the course of the meeting with the representatives of national and foreign business, President Petro Poroshenko instructed the security officials to create an efficient feedback with the business representatives.
The Head of State brought an example of the governmental “hotline” and asked Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko to work over the creation of the same “hotline” in the prosecution as regards pressure on business. He asked to provide such information to the Presidential Administration and added that the Prosecutor General’s Office can gather information on pressure on business from all state bodies – tax service, national police, anti-corruption bodies, Security Service.
The President emphasized that the meeting allowed having a frank dialogue about all the acute problems of the interaction between the government and business. “We are ready for this dialogue,” the President said emphasizing that such meetings must take place at least once a year.
“I think that everyone is shocked with an image of the entrepreneur with a gun put to his head. And this gun can belong not only to the law enforcers, but also to the criminals in camouflage raiding Ukraine,” the President said emphasizing that the government must act resolutely in such cases. He also urged the business representatives to help fight with such occasions.
The Head of State called the leitmotif of today’s meeting the issue of termination of the “pressure of the security officials” on business.
“Pass the court appeal, defend your position, give an opportunity to pay and act exclusively in this algorithm,” the President said commenting on the discussion on the business checks by the law enforcement agencies. “There cannot be people in camouflage and balaclavas unless there is request for the voluntary provision of information and the enterprise, in accordance with the court decision, provided this information,” Petro Poroshenko stressed.
The Head of State emphasized that the leadership of the security structures must provide a resolute response to the illegal attempts of putting pressure on business: “Please consider it as a strict instruction from the President. The President, the Government and the prosecution, as structure monitoring the actions of the security officials, will react to such occasions. And the reaction will be public”.
“I am confident that we must make a separate day of voting for deregulation in the Parliament,” the President said adding that it is necessary to agree on relevant bills and submit the issue to the National Council of Reforms, so that the position of business is represented as objective as possible.
"In fact, Ukraine is changing and our meeting with you is a bright confirmation of that," the Head of State summed up.
