President Petro Poroshenko thanked all officers, soldiers, volunteers and veterans who defended and continue to defend Ukraine. He emphasized that everyone who passed the challenges of the frontline must feel support and care of the state.
The Head of State appealed to the Parliament and the Government to analyze the opportunity of establishing the Ministry of Veterans. "The future generations of the defenders of the Homeland will be raised on their example,” the Head of State noted opening the Cossack Cross to the Fighters for the Freedom of Ukraine in Sumy.
According to the President, Ukraine has already established the network of rehabilitation centers and today, one of such centers was opened in Sumy. “The work of many people who sincerely want to help our defenders get back to peaceful normal life is behind it. Not to leave a single person with his or her problems, to help everyone – this must be the motto of not only this institution, but also the entire government, society and all Ukrainians,” the Head of State said.
The President emphasized: “The enemy brought to our land not only war, but also realization that Ukrainians are a single nation. For decades, Ukrainians have been split and divided. However, these challenges have united us. Ukrainians are a single nation capable of rebuffing any aggressor and taking care of their defenders”.
The Head of State added that Ukrainians are able to conduct reforms and get back to the family of European nations.
