President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a phone conversation with U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.
The parties discussed the escalation in the Donbas due to the intensification of shelling by pro-Russian militants and irresponsible withdrawal of Russian officers from the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire Regime in the Donbas.
Petro Poroshenko and Rex Tillerson coordinated positions as regards the UN peacekeeping mission in the occupied part of the Donbas.
Petro Poroshenko thanked for the prolongation of sanctions against Russia, the consistent support of Washington regarding the increase of Ukraine’s defense capacity and the UN resolution on Crimea. Rex Tillerson emphasized that the U.S. would further support Ukraine.
The parties discussed the progress of the Ukrainian reforms. The Head of State informed that the creation of the Anticorruption Court had been unblocked.
