Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ihor Zhovkva met with Secretary General of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Anne-Marie Descôtes to coordinate positions ahead of the European Council meeting scheduled for October 23. The meeting followed a recent phone call between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President of France Emmanuel Macron.

The leaders discussed continued support for Ukraine, including the Czech initiative to supply artillery shells and other ideas that can help strengthen Ukraine and our defense right now.

To cover up its failures on the ground, Russia has launched a new wave of air terror against Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure, which is why Ukraine needs stronger air defense. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this during his online address to participants of the 71st Annual Session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, attended by delegations from nearly 50 countries, including Europe, all the Alliance, and the Middle East.

I urge you to advocate in your parliaments and governments for stronger air defenses and the missiles we need. And the decisions are needed in the coming weeks – on both systems and missiles. Russia must learn it cannot terrorize any country with impunity.
