In the course of the working trip to Dnipropetrovsk region, President Petro Poroshenko visited the subway construction site in Dnipro.
“Subway construction in Dnipro is a symbol of our cooperation with the European Union,” the Head of State stressed. He reminded that loan agreements totaling 300 million euros for the construction of the Dnipro subway were concluded with EBRD and EIB.
The Head of State noted that it is an important event for Dnipro, because the last subway station in the city was open more than 20 years ago.
The President informed that project documentation has already been approved. According to him, local authorities assured that earthwork operations will begin shortly. The Head of State is hopeful this construction will be finished in the coming 3-4 years.
“I’d like to point out that this is carried out in conditions of war and Russian aggression. This has become possible due to the economic growth and decentralization,” the President said.
According to him, control by the two European banks will ensure the efficient use of funds in the construction.
