During the NSDC meeting, President Petro Poroshenko stressed the need to work out a position that would protect the interests of the state given the situation in the Sea of Azov.
In particular, the Head of State instructed the Government to accelerate the development of the Maritime Doctrine, which will take into account the situation in the Sea of Azov.
"I would ask the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Justice to submit proposals on the legal protection of national interests in relation to the Russian Federation's behavior on blocking the Sea of Azov, blocking ports, as well as on the compensation for Ukraine and Ukrainian producers," he said.
The Head of State also said that there was an agreement to establish a single coordination center, the result of which should be the above-mentioned position. "Which will allow us to respond effectively and adequately to the challenges in the Sea of Azov. I emphasize again: protection of political, military and economic interests of the state," Petro Poroshenko emphasized.
