President of Ukraine, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed a decree appointing Colonel Serhiy Kryvonos to the post of Under Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
"Your very important characteristic is absolute intolerance to corruption. And this is my presidential instruction - zero tolerance to corruption. We should resolutely protect the army, protect the defense complex from any attacks or mistrust. We must strengthen the trust of society and international partners in the defense complex," the President noted during a meeting with Colonel Serhiy Kryvonos.
"Today, I have decided to sign a decree appointing Colonel Serhiy Kryvonos to the post of Under Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. There is a huge public request for this appointment today," the President said and recalled the active participation of Colonel Kryvonos in the establishment of the Special Operations Forces.
The President noted the high professionalism, moral and human qualities of Colonel Kryvonos, as well as the support of the public and volunteers in his activities as deputy commander of the Special Operations Forces.
"This is a demonstration of a new type of Ukrainian military," he said. The President instructed to intensify activities on the rearmament of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other armed units, on the military-technical cooperation issues, deepen coordination of territorial defense activities and enhance the Ukraine-NATO cooperation.
"I am convinced that a professional military with an impeccable reputation, approved by both the authorities and the opposition, is the very candidate that should lead this responsible work. You are well aware of the situation on the frontline and the life of the soldier, of the requirements for the military equipment and our latest developments," Petro Poroshenko said.
The newly appointed Under Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council thanked the President for his confidence and assured of his resolve to fight corruption in the defense sector.
