On February 13, the President’s wife visited Khmelnytskyi region to initiate the establishment of 26 inclusive resource centers at the level of territorial communities. The network of inclusive resource centers will start functioning on September 1.
According to Maryna Poroshenko, the development of a system of equal opportunities in the educational process is another step in the implementation of the reform of inclusive education. “Now, the speed and efficiency of creating this network depends on the heads of district state administrations and united territorial communities. For this end, the Poroshenko Charity Foundation developed and conveyed typical projects of inclusive resource centers that will help open such institutions in the shortest possible time," the wife of the President noted.
Also, Maryna Poroshenko visited one of the media libraries of the region located in Kamianets-Podilskyi educational complex №3 and built within the Poroshenko Charity Foundation’s project "Inclusive Education - Level of Consciousness of the Nation".
Currently, this institution has 11 classes with inclusive education, in which 19 pupils with special educational needs study.
The total number of children with special educational needs in Khmelnytskyi region is 28735. There are 85 inclusive schools in the region with 236 pupils with special educational needs. Inclusive education covers only 1.5% of "special" children. At the moment when Khmelnytskyi region joined the project of the Poroshenko Charity Foundation, it had 58 schools with inclusive education.
