President Poroshenko stressed the importance of trusting people who receive subsidies. The Head of State said this during the meeting at the Ministry of Social Policy regarding the launch of the subsidy monetization system.
"Monetization means to give money to the consumers of subsidies, money from the state budget," the President said. He noted that the system had not worked efficiently due to the lack of trust.
"Ukrainians were not trusted. They said if you give cash to the pensioners, to the poor, they will not pay (for the utilities consumed - ed.). I want to emphasize that the President, the Prime Minister and the Government trust Ukrainians," the Head of State emphasized.
According to him, this is why now, following the results of the meeting at the Situation Center of the Presidential Administration, "we are implementing and launching the project, the process of monetization of subsidies, so that people receiving subsidies have an opportunity to receive them in cash already in March for February".
"For what? To make Ukrainian people partners and motivate them to reduce consumption. To move to the norms of consumption of those who pay with cash for the services consumed and provide energy efficiency and energy saving. We trust people," he said.
