President Petro Poroshenko said that Ukraine had already made progress in strengthening its defense capabilities and set the task for the defense industry to work on the creation of high-precision missiles.
"We should talk about our success and prospects in strengthening the defense capability of the Ukrainian army, the Ukrainian state. I want everyone, from a soldier to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, to see the goals, strategy of our transformations," Petro Poroshenko said during the visit to the 95th separate assault brigade in Zhytomyr region.
The Head of State said: "Until recently, we were obliged to adhere to various restrictions in connection with the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty. And now we see that Russia has destroyed this Treaty. Everyone, including our partners, makes the necessary conclusions".
"We set the task for the design bureau and the defense industry: we need high-precision missile weapons of increased range of operation, capable of striking targets far into the rear of the enemy in response to the aggression," the President noted.
