In the framework of the Trust Fund for Medical Rehabilitation in Ukraine, a third educational workshop on sports prosthetics was held at the Ukrainian Scientific Research Institute for Prosthetics from July 9 to July 13, 2018.
Head of the project of the Trust Fund for Medical Rehabilitation in Ukraine and Commissioner of the President of Ukraine for rehabilitation of ATO participants wounded, shell-shocked, crippled or diseased during participation in the anti-terrorist operation Vadym Svyrydenko visited the Scientific Research Institute Prosthetics and communicated with trainers, participants of the seminar and ATO veterans.
The participants noted high social importance of this project. The acquired knowledge and new technologies learnt during seminars will allow Ukrainian prosthetists to make high-quality sports prostheses, especially for ATO participants.
During the event, the newest prostheses were made for four injured ATO participants under the control of foreign specialists, representatives of Ossur company. The NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) in Ukraine, which is responsible for implementing the project of the Trust Fund for Medical Rehabilitation in Ukraine, will fund three educational workshops on sports prosthetics, in which it is planned to manufacture 11 prostheses for 9 ATO participants.
