President Petro Poroshenko and his wife Maryna Poroshenko took part in the ceremony of laying flowers to the monuments to Taras Shevchenko and Mykhailo Hrushevsky on the Day of Unity of Ukraine and the 100th anniversary of the proclamation of independence of the Ukrainian People’s Republic.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko handed certificates for apartments to the ATO participants during the working trip to the Lviv region. The Head of State emphasized the importance of increasing social protection of the Ukrainian warrior.

During the visit to the International Peacekeeping and Security Centre, President Petro Poroshenko awarded 20 Ukrainian warriors.

“We keep on enhancing our security partnership,” President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said during the joint visit to the Yavoriv training area with Governor General of Canada Julie Payette.

"Due to the practical assistance of our Canadian partners, we continue to develop and modernize the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Military instructors from the Canadian Royal Regiment are about to begin a new phase in the preparation of another combat unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. I am confident in the high results of this future work," Petro Poroshenko said and thanked once again for the consistent training of our soldiers.

“I cannot imagine a better proof of solidarity with Ukraine. And today you continue to build brotherhood in arms," Petro Poroshenko emphasized, calling it symbolic "when Ukraine counters Russian aggression, defending its land and the whole free world”.

“I am grateful to our Canadian partners for supporting the defense potential of our state from the very first minutes of the Russian aggression,” the President said during the joint briefing with the Governor General of Canada following the meeting.
