President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy praised the opening of the restored St. Andrew's Church. Today the monument is officially opened, and from Tuesday, December 15, the church will open its doors to visitors.
Worship services will be held here every Sunday and on holidays, and on other days the church will work as a museum.
"I am glad that this unique architectural monument is finally opening its doors to visitors after a long restoration. From now on, Kyivites and guests of the capital will be able to see with their own eyes its magnificent architecture and paintings. I am sure that next year we will have even more pleasant reasons for joy, because in 2021 we will begin the restoration of a large number of cultural and architectural monuments of Ukraine in the framework of the National Program "Large Construction". Jointly we will be able to restore many unique objects and preserve them for posterity," the President said.
Director General of Sophia Kyivs'ka National Reserve Nelia Kukovalska thanked everyone who helped implement this large-scale project.
