President met with representatives of Canadian business in Toronto

In the course of the working visit to Canada, President Petro Poroshenko met with representatives of Canadian business and invited them to Ukraine.

The Head of State noted that the Ukraine-Canada relations have a special atmosphere. “We are doing everything possible to make ties between our countries closer. Earlier Canadian Ukrainians invested in Ukraine to support the economy. Currently, the whole Canadian business is ready to come. I would like to say that it is the right time and place for investments,” the President said adding that Ukraine has a great potential.

Petro Poroshenko noted that a few days ago, Ukraine completed the issuance of Ukrainian sovereign bonds in the amount of 3 billion dollars. “It is a good signal of investors’ trust in Ukraine and its reforms,” the President added.

The Head of State told about the changes in Ukraine, particularly anti-corruption steps, introduction of e-declaration and recent reforms made by the Ukrainian authorities.

The President stressed that the international financial organizations stated that Ukraine has made much more in the last 3 years than in the previous 20.

A series of Canadian companies working in the spheres of energy, agriculture, defense, finance, air construction have demonstrated significant interest in the Ukrainian market, especially in the context of the introduction of free trade with Ukraine.
