Ukraine and Austria to Strengthen Cooperation on the Establishment of the Special Tribunal for the Russian Crime of Aggression Against Ukraine

Ukraine and Austria will step up joint efforts to launch the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression committed by Russia against Ukraine. This was the key topic of discussion during the meeting between Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Iryna Mudra and Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to Ukraine Robert Müller.

Iryna Mudra thanked Austria for its support, including for hosting meetings of the Coalition of States for the establishment of the Special Tribunal in Vienna. She emphasized the importance of launching the tribunal as soon as possible.

“We value Austria’s principled position in support of the international legal order. In a world where evil seeks to go unpunished, such a stance is not merely support for Ukraine — it is a choice in favor of justice,” said the Deputy Head of the Presidential Office.

The parties also discussed finalizing the development of the international compensation mechanism and the need to use frozen Russian assets for the benefit of Ukraine.

The Austrian Ambassador reaffirmed Vienna’s readiness to continue supporting our country both bilaterally and within international organizations such as the UN, the Council of Europe, and the OSCE.
