President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone call with UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
The Head of State informed the Secretary-General about Russia’s ongoing strikes and the many casualties among ordinary civilians. The UN Secretary-General condemned these massive Russian attacks on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities and communities.
They discussed the threats posed by Russian strikes to food security, as well as Russia’s continued attacks on port infrastructure and vessels.
“This is already being felt in many countries in Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, and prices have started to rise. But despite the Russian side spurning all proposals to sit down at the negotiating table, everything possible must be done to bring this war to an end,” the Head of State said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and António Guterres agreed that the search for ways forward will continue and that the UN will contribute to this joint effort.
