President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with a delegation of politicians, businessmen and representatives of charitable organizations of the United States of America led by former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
Welcoming the delegation to Kyiv, the Head of State emphasized the importance of such visits and meetings, which are a powerful signal of support for Ukrainians in our struggle for freedom and democracy.
"Glad to see that you came with your friends. Comprehensive American support is extremely important for us," said the President, addressing Mike Pompeo.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also thanked the entire American people.
"Unfortunately, the war has been ongoing for over a year now, and we are glad that the United States is standing by our side and fighting with us for common goals. We feel both bipartisan support and support from the White House," the President emphasized.
During the meeting, the Head of State invited American business to actively invest in Ukraine.
"We are open to this, ready to provide you with full assistance. It is very important for us," said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
He informed about the opportunities of business development in the fields of construction, agriculture, IT technologies, etc.
The President also emphasized the importance of continuing and strengthening defense assistance and joint development of defense technologies, taking into account the experience gained by Ukraine during the war.
"Invest in business, because business is what creates jobs. We are interested in people being able to find a job and the budget receiving revenue to increase our capabilities on the battlefield," the Head of State summarized.
A number of other topical issues were also discussed, including Ukraine's movement towards NATO and the importance of further strengthening sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted the activities of American charitable organizations, whose representatives attended the meeting, which focused on helping displaced persons, rebuilding the destroyed housing stock, providing medical assistance, providing drinking water and food to those who need it most.
