President of Ukraine

Speeches

Only pressure – only decisive action – can change this. Every Russian ballistic missile, every cruise missile, every Russian Shahed, every guided bomb strikes not only our people and our communities, but also diplomacy – and the political efforts of everyone trying to end this war.

We are counting on our partners’ decisions. The world has the necessary systems, and what’s needed is a political decision for them to work here in Ukraine – in Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Nikopol, Kharkiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, and many other cities and communities. We discussed this with the President of the United States, President Trump – Ukraine is not just asking, we are ready to purchase these additional systems.

Stable, predictable and sufficient defense support along with joint pressure on Russia and our own resilience here in Ukraine, including our domestic weapons production, are absolutely necessary for this war to finally end.

We will continue working with every country, with every leader who can truly make a difference, so that the Russian state feels a higher cost for this war, a cost that keeps invariably growing for them.

The Security Service of Ukraine is conducting initial procedural actions with captured Chinese nationals. They are now in Kyiv. Communicating with investigators. Providing information on how they ended up on the frontline, how they became involved in this international crime, this Russia’s war against Ukraine.

We are working at every level. Russia must be held accountable for this war – and it will be, in every available form. We are also working on new defense packages for Ukraine – relevant announcements are being prepared.

There are two main objectives for today: namely, air defense systems, specifically Patriots, and the second objective is contingents, ensuring the swift alignment of all decisions and working out all details. Furthermore, the strengthening of our air shield will also reinforce all diplomatic efforts.

Last night and today, many around the world voiced their position in response to this strike – a clear rejection of Russian terror. To everyone who sees this and does not close their eyes, who speaks the truth clearly and directly – not only we in Ukraine, but the entire world should be grateful.

A ceasefire could have already been reached, and it is Putin who rejects it; it is Moscow that has refused a ceasefire since March 11; and it is they, in Russia, who want this war. And it’s obvious that Russia won’t be forced into peace just by talks or expectations.

We are working to defend our positions. We know what the enemy is counting on. In any case, we will defend our state, our independence and our people.
