The United States of America Continues to Support Ukraine – Andriy Yermak

The United States of America continues to support Ukraine, and our state is counting on the U.S. Senate to pass the bill on strengthening sanctions against Russia. This was stated by Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak during the United News telethon.

He spoke about meetings with representatives of U.S. President Donald Trump’s Administration, the State Department, and Congress, which were held during the Ukrainian delegation’s visit to the United States.

“It was very important to once again feel that America maintains a high level of support for Ukraine. Practically everyone congratulated us on the incredible Operation ‘Spiderweb’ – they were all impressed. And it gave momentum, and Ukraine was once again at the center of media attention,” the Head of the Presidential Office said.

Andriy Yermak emphasized that the Ukrainian delegation’s visit served as preparation for the meeting between the President of Ukraine and the President of the United States on the sidelines of the G7 Summit, which will take place on 15–17 June in Canada. In addition, discussions were held on continuing military assistance to Ukraine.

“There is a shared understanding on this issue, we need to keep working. President Zelenskyy clearly outlined our position: under the signed agreement on economic cooperation, we are also ready to buy some of the equipment, especially missile defense systems, etc.,” the Head of the Office of the President noted.

He stressed that the members of Congress who participated in the meetings expressed support for the continued provision of military aid and for the sale of weapons for Ukraine to partner states.

Andriy Yermak emphasized that Ukraine is counting on the U.S. Senate to pass the bill on strengthening sanctions against Russia and introducing secondary restrictions on countries and companies that help the aggressor state circumvent sanctions.

“We hope this new sanctions package will be adopted. But even the process that should begin in the Senate next week will be a very important signal – because everyone understands what it’s about. It’s quite clearly about reducing Russia’s revenues from energy exports, primarily oil,” the Head of the Presidential Office concluded.
