The Office of the President Hosted a Meeting with German Delegation Focused on Countering Russian Propaganda

Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ihor Zhovkva met with a German delegation led by Nathanael Liminski, Minister for Federal, European, International Affairs and Media – Head of the State Chancellery of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The key topic of the meeting was the coordination of steps to counter Russian propaganda. Particular attention was given to the aggressive promotion of Kremlin narratives within German democratic society. The parties agreed to cooperate closely to ensure an appropriate response from all of Europe.

The discussion also covered the security situation in Ukraine and Germany’s significant role in meeting Ukraine’s financial, humanitarian, economic, and military needs, as well as its involvement in reconstruction efforts.

Ihor Zhovkva highlighted the significant support provided to the Dnipro region by North Rhine-Westphalia, which entered into the first partnership with a Ukrainian region in 2023.

“We value the investments in the rapid recovery of the region, as well as the efforts to expand regional partnerships and encourage German businesses to deepen cooperation with Ukraine in key sectors,” the Deputy Head of the Presidential Office emphasized.

The meeting also addressed ways to deepen economic and military-technical cooperation, Ukraine’s European integration path, and the country’s post-war reconstruction.

“A united Europe is only possible with Ukraine. Despite the war, Ukraine is demonstrating great progress on its path to EU integration and will continue to fulfill all the necessary conditions for EU membership,” Ihor Zhovkva noted.
