In Florida, at the Mar-a-Lago residence, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with President of the United States Donald Trump.
The Head of State expressed his gratitude for the meeting, during which a substantive discussion was held on all issues. The President separately noted the progress achieved by the Ukrainian and American teams over the past weeks.
“Special thanks to Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner for their engagement and full commitment, as well as to our team – first of all, to Rustem Umerov and Andrii Hnatov,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.
The leaders discussed all aspects of the peace framework and achieved significant results. According to the Head of State, some documents have already been fully agreed or are being finalized. In addition, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Donald Trump discussed the sequencing of the following actions.
“We agree that security guarantees are the key milestone in achieving lasting peace, and our teams will continue working on all aspects,” the Head of State emphasized.
Donald Trump noted that the teams have come very close to ending the war and will continue working in the format of working groups. The U.S. President also separately commended the bravery of Ukrainian warriors and underscored Ukraine’s importance for Europe and the United States.
The leaders agreed that the Ukrainian and American teams will meet as early as next week to finalize all discussed matters. In addition, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Donald Trump agreed on a joint meeting with European leaders to be held in Washington in January.
