President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed decrees enacting decisions of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine to impose sanctions on suppliers of equipment for Russian defense industry plants that produce missile components, as well as on Russian propagandists.
In particular, sanctions have been imposed on companies, their founders, and executives that produce high-precision machine tools and related equipment for enterprises of Russia’s military-industrial complex. This equipment is both a direct and intermediate link in weapons production. In total, the package includes 30 legal entities and 42 individuals.
Among those targeted by the restrictions are the Burevestnik Center, which is involved in the production of mortar systems and 152 mm Malva self-propelled artillery systems, as well as KAM-Engineering, an important link in Russia’s military sector for the final testing of combat aviation assemblies and certain missile systems.
“We continue to identify new, well-substantiated targets for sanctions. Each such decision further isolates Russian companies working for the military-industrial complex, complicates their cooperation with international partners and their access to technology, financing, and equipment. Sanctions must make participation in supporting Russia’s war machine toxic and economically unprofitable,” said Vladyslav Vlasiuk, Advisor – Commissioner of the President of Ukraine for Sanctions Policy.
The second decision concerns 15 individuals and eight legal entities that support Russia’s aggressive policy toward Ukraine, spread Kremlin propaganda, distort facts, and illegally operate in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
In particular, the sanctions target military blogger Vladimir Romanov, who supports the war and the occupation of Ukrainian territories. There is also video evidence of his participation in hostilities, in which the propagandist fires an anti-tank missile system at positions of Ukraine’s Defense Forces. In addition, restrictions have been imposed on former military pilot Ilya Tumanov, who fought in Syria and is now a propagandist.
Sanctions have also been imposed on former synchronized swimmer Maria Kiseleva, a member of the Moscow City Duma. She has visited the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and publicly supports Russia’s war against our country.
