At one of Odesa's medical facilities, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with warriors who are receiving treatment and undergoing rehabilitation for combat wounds.
The Head of State spoke with defenders who took part in operations to repel the Russian occupiers and in counteroffensive operations in Kherson and the region, the Dnipro and Mykolaiv regions, including the defense of the Kinburn Spit and the Port of Odesa. They sustained multiple shrapnel wounds and severe musculoskeletal injuries in combat.
“It is good to see you. Thank you for your service, for defending our country, and for your courage. We are proud of you and wish you a speedy recovery,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The President presented the defenders with the Orders “For Courage,” I and III class, and the Medals “For Military Service to Ukraine” and “To the Defender of the Motherland.”
In addition, Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with medical personnel who performed advanced, high-tech surgeries on severely wounded warriors, provided surgical care to the wounded under combat conditions, and carried out medical evacuations in the Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Sumy regions.
The Head of State awarded five medical professionals the Order of Danylo Halytskyi and Medals “For Military Service to Ukraine.”
