In the course of the working trip to Lviv region, President Petro Poroshenko examined the tank plant of Lviv.
“It is a great pleasure to hear positive feedback from servicemen regarding the quality of your work,” the Head of State noted and expressed gratitude to the staff of the enterprise for their work.
“More than 300 million hryvnias is allocated for the purchase of modern “Oplot” tanks. Several battalions must be equipped with state-of-the-art tanks. We have every opportunity for that,” he noted.
The President informed that T-72 tanks of the Lviv plant must also be purchased for the Armed Forces. “72 modernized T-72 tanks will be provided for the Armed Forces this year,” Petro Poroshenko informed.
“We purchased modern BREM evacuation vehicles produced here in Lviv. We have seen the capacity of the latest fire truck based on T-72,” the President added.
The Head of State noted that all tank brigades and arsenals would have such equipment.
The President informed that the tank plant of Lviv would receive 920 million hryvnias. According to him, 20 DOZOR-B tactical combat vehicles will be provided to the troops shortly, just as modern missiles, electronic warfare equipment, advanced drones. “This is a different army now and every Ukrainian is proud of it. This is a completely different Ukroboronprom and I am grateful for that,” the President noted.
The Head of State noted that 1 billion hryvnias would be allocated for the construction of new accommodation for contractors. Petro Poroshenko reminded that pursuant to his instruction, demobilization had been completed. Nowadays, more than 90 thousand Ukrainians became contractors.
