President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a meeting with Prime Minister of Turkey Ahmet Davutoğlu in the framework of the visit of the Turkish Government’s Leader to Ukraine.
The Head of State noted the intensity of contacts between the two states, which is confirmed by the high level of strategic partnership between Ukraine and Turkey.
The President emphasized a huge potential of bilateral relations in security, economic, humanitarian and social spheres.
The parties discussed ways to enhance security in the Black Sea region and a similar nature of challenges the two countries have to deal with.
The Prime Minister of Turkey highlighted the strategic character of partnership between our states, called Ukraine a “strategic ally” and noted close interaction between the two countries in the international arena.
The President thanked Turkey for supporting the mechanism of de-occupation of Crimea through bilateral consultations and the Geneva plus format with participation of Turkey.
The Head of State also expressed gratitude for the decision to allocate USD 50 million loan to finance the general fund of the State Budget of Ukraine and convey an equipped modular tent field hospital to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Petro Poroshenko and Ahmet Davutoğlu discussed preparations to the fifth session of the High Level Strategic Council that is to take place in Ankara in March.
