Following the inaugural meeting, the members of the International Working Group on the Environmental Consequences of War issued a joint statement.

The meeting with the members of the International Working Group on the Environmental Consequences of War - Greta Thunberg, Margot Wallström and others. We talked primarily about the Russian terrorist attack and ecocide at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant and the work of our group, which will deal with issues directly related to the destructive impact of Russian aggression on nature.

The Head of State thanked his colleague for the declaration in support of Ukraine initiated by him at the General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS), which was voted for by the majority of the Organization's members.

I believe, that – the day will come very, very soon when Ukrainian contribution to the global freedom and the strength of our people will be recognized by a legitimate recognition of our state – an ally of your state and all free nations, NATO members. 

The Office of the President of Ukraine hosted a briefing for members of the International Working Group on the Environmental Consequences of War dedicated to the situation in Ukraine, Russia's war crimes and the consequences of blowing up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant.

The Head of State expressed gratitude for the loud voice of Mike Pence in support of Ukraine in the US Republican Party.

We are ready to start accession negotiations, and our progress in implementing the European Commission's recommendations has to be fixed. Ukraine is determined to be fully prepared for the start of accession negotiations as soon as possible, and we will do so.

The President emphasized that the main priority for our country today is to win the war, and the role of business operating in Ukraine is extremely important in this regard.

The Head of State drew attention to the catastrophic consequences of the blowing up of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant dam faced by the residents of Kherson region.

As part of the ongoing dialogue with allies, Andriy Yermak briefed Jake Sullivan on the operational situation on the battlefield. Separately, the Head of the President's Office thanked the United States for another package of defense support, which includes equipment and ammunition needed by the Ukrainian defense forces.
