Europe has a very, very long history of wars, and it cannot afford to treat this lightly. All pressure on Russia must remain in place as long as occupation of our land continues. Russia must feel that it is a criminal.

In The Hague, a joint meeting took place between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Prime Minister of the Netherlands Dick Schoof, President of Moldova Maia Sandu, and Secretary General of the Council of Europe Alain Berset.

“It is very important that our counterparts from the United States of America heard all the details regarding the war. If these meetings had taken place earlier, the progress would have been even greater. But I am grateful that we truly worked very well together. There are some things that, in my view, are destructive and would definitely not help us. It is important that they are no longer present in the new versions of the documents. This matters,” the President emphasized.

The Ukrainian side is ready to continue working with maximum quality, constructively and honestly, so that the final agreement on establishing peace is strong. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this in Berlin during a joint press conference with Federal Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz.

We greatly value the bilateral agenda in our relations with Germany as well. We have just been together with the Chancellor at an economic forum – the Ukrainian–German business forum. Cooperation between our companies, as well as our joint projects – those of Ukraine and Germany – is what truly helps us.

In Berlin, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, together with Federal Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz, took part in the closing of the eighth German–Ukrainian Economic Forum. The event was attended by representatives of leading German industries, including manufacturing, energy, the agro-industrial sector, and defense.

Thank you! If Germany had been indifferent, Europe would not have been able to stand up to this evil that Russia has brought to our land. And it is a historic result that you chose the side of normal life, the side of Europe, the side of democracy, and that you are helping to defend against Russia’s aggression – an imperialist aggression, absolutely unjust.

The Head of State thanked Julia Klöckner and the entire Bundestag for allocating €11.5 billion in defense assistance to Ukraine for next year.

At Bellevue Palace, the residence of the Federal President of Germany, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a one-on-one meeting with Frank-Walter Steinmeier, followed by an expanded meeting.
