On the Infantry Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with warriors and the families of fallen defenders and presented the highest state awards. He also handed over battle flags, ribbons of the honorary distinction “For Courage and Bravery,” and ribbons bearing honorary brigade names to unit commanders, and conferred higher officer ranks.

First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska visited the National Library of the Czech Republic, where a Ukrainian bookshelf was officially opened.

The Head of State emphasized that unity within Europe and among all of Ukraine’s key partners is crucial for achieving a just end to the war.

The Head of State expressed gratitude for Germany’s pivotal role in supporting Ukraine throughout all the years of war, and specifically thanked Olaf Scholz for his personal commitment.

First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska held a meeting with Mikuláš Bek, Minister of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic, as well as with the rectors of Charles University, Palacký University, the vice-rector of Masaryk University, the vice-rector of the University of Hradec Králové, deans of relevant faculties, and heads of Ukrainian Studies departments.

The meeting focused in particular on motivation for Ukrainians to return home after the war ends. Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that such a decision is ultimately a personal choice. However, he added, this can be encouraged by creating the right conditions, which could emerge, for example, during Ukraine’s postwar reconstruction.

The Head of State thanked the Senate for adopting nine resolutions in support of Ukraine and for its contribution to advancing the International Crimea Platform.

The Head of State expressed gratitude for supporting Ukraine and for concrete joint work, especially in the area of defense cooperation. The President noted that the Czech artillery initiative is working very effectively and could yield even greater results this year. Ukraine also appreciates Czechia’s willingness to assist in the development of Ukrainian combat aviation.

First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska participated in the “Healthcare Initiative for Ukraine” conference held in Czechia.

In the presence of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala, a Joint Declaration was signed to establish a Unity Hub of Ukraine in Czechia.
