Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak held an online conversation with advisors to the leaders of Northern European and Baltic states, as well as to the Presidents of the European Council and the European Commission, and the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
The participants discussed continued support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression. In particular, the conversation focused on the urgent need to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense in light of intensified missile and drone attacks by Russia.
Andriy Yermak briefed the participants on the outcomes of the Ukrainian delegation’s recent meetings in Washington, where the necessity of maintaining support for Ukraine was reiterated.
Special attention during the conversation was given to increasing sanctions pressure on Russia. For Ukraine, it is crucial that the EU’s 18th sanctions package include restrictions on the banking and energy sectors, Russia’s shadow fleet, and secondary sanctions.
In addition, the parties discussed preparations for upcoming international events, most notably the G7 Summit to be held on June 15–17 in Canada, the NATO Summit in The Hague, and the EU Summit.
