Combating Russian Hybrid Threats and Strengthening Bilateral Relations: Volodymyr Zelenskyy Met with Maia Sandu

In Tirana, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with President of Moldova Maia Sandu to coordinate steps toward achieving a sustainable peace and to discuss the strengthening of bilateral cooperation.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine’s priority is a full and unconditional ceasefire lasting at least 30 days, which should establish a foundation for diplomacy.

The leaders also addressed energy security, the potential impact of election results in Europe on political processes, European integration, and Russia’s hybrid war against democratic states – particularly its attempts to interfere in Moldova’s parliamentary elections.

Maia Sandu assured that Moldova has no intention of diverging from Ukraine in the European integration process. The path began together, with Ukraine’s support, and must continue in the same coordinated manner. After all, Moldova’s stability also depends on Ukraine’s resilience.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also noted that Ukraine is ready to secure electricity exports to Moldova during the heating season, taking into account available capacity and needs.
