Ten Newly Appointed Judges Take the Oath of Office

In the presence of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, ten judges took the oath of office.

Nine of them are judges of local courts of general jurisdiction and one is a judge of a local commercial court.

The newly appointed judges represent various regions of Ukraine: two from Lviv region, and one each from Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Dnipro, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kharkiv, and Cherkasy regions.

"A great deal now depends on the decisions made by every individual in the state – especially by those who administer justice. It is justice that Ukrainian judges must uphold," the President emphasized.

Taking the oath is one of the mandatory steps in assuming judicial office. Only after taking the oath, being appointed to the court, and completing initial training may a judge begin to administer justice.
