President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone call with Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk.
The key topics discussed included diplomatic steps to bring about a just and lasting peace, joint defense production, support for Ukrainians, and the negotiation process regarding Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.
The Head of State informed Donald Tusk about his conversation with President Donald Trump and European colleagues. The leaders discussed the available diplomatic options and agreed to coordinate their actions and work together for the sake of common European security interests.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Donald Tusk share the same view: Ukraine, Poland, and other European countries equally need strong foundations for their security and independence. The President thanked the Prime Minister of Poland for his willingness to assist on this path.
The leaders also discussed certain regulatory changes in Poland that have affected Ukrainian applicants and students. Volodymyr Zelenskyy asked to consider this issue and help Ukrainian youth.
The conversation also touched upon the negotiation process on Ukraine’s EU membership. The President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of Poland share the same view that the first cluster for Ukraine and Moldova should be opened simultaneously. Ukraine and Moldova began this path together and must continue along it together.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Poland and the entire Polish people for their unwavering support of Ukraine.
