Bilateral Relations, Ukraine’s European Integration, and Security of the Black Sea Region: The President Meets with the Prime Minister of Bulgaria

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with Prime Minister of Bulgaria Rossen Jeliazkov.

The Head of State thanked him for participating in the Ukraine – Southeast Europe Summit, which is aimed at strengthening resilience and security in the region and across all Europe.

“This is an important message of support and solidarity between our countries. We discussed key issues in our bilateral relations, Ukraine’s European integration, and security in the Black Sea region,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.

The President expressed gratitude for Bulgaria’s support of Ukraine on its path to the EU. Our state values Bulgaria’s voice in favor of the swift opening of the negotiating clusters. Volodymyr Zelenskyy added that Ukraine has fulfilled all the necessary conditions, including those related to national minorities.

The Head of State welcomed all decisions made by the Government of Bulgaria to continue its defense support for Ukraine, thanked them for the 11th assistance package, and informed the Prime Minister about Ukraine’s current defense needs in the face of Russian aggression.

The President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of Bulgaria also discussed expanding bilateral cooperation and its priority areas. In particular, they addressed cooperation in the energy sector.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Rossen Jeliazkov agreed to stay in close contact.
