President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone call with Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk.
Key topics of discussion included the presidential elections in Poland, coordination of next steps with partners toward achieving peace, and the opening of clusters in Ukraine’s negotiations for EU membership.
The Head of State informed Prime Minister Tusk about the phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump and European leaders, as well as preparations for the next steps: the possibility of a next meeting with the Russian side, a “1000-for-1000” prisoner exchange, and the imposition of strong sanctions in response to Russia prolonging the war. Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted the adoption of the 17th sanctions package against Russia and added that further restrictive measures are already being prepared.
Special attention was given to the opening of the first negotiation clusters during Poland’s presidency of the Council of the European Union. The President emphasized that Ukraine has fulfilled all necessary conditions for its part, and it is unfair that a single party can block the entire process. Donald Tusk assured that he will make personal efforts to help find a solution and ensure the opening of the first clusters.
The President thanked the Prime Minister of Poland for his willingness to help and for Poland’s ongoing support.
